I really started this blog as a simple way to start writing about the adoption process. A few months ago, I realized how many neat things that I was doing that I had wished that I kept better records of. In tandem, the process of foster adoption is so complicated and confusing…there is so much to explain (which I have been doing over and over) that it makes sense to record what I have learned so that my friends and family can understand and people that are interested in going through the process themselves can understand, as well.
I have been sidetracked in beginning the writing for months. I have actually had an outline of the various posts that I have wanted to start of for quite a while. First, my massage practice got very busy. Then my dad died and a writing group that I was planning on attending changed the day that they met. Okay, there has been my usual wastes of time messing around on the computer and geocaching. But here I am…my first really adoption-specific post.
Some of the topics that I plan to cover are on overview explanation of different kinds of adoption and what exactly fost-adoption is, how we came to the decision to do fost-adoption, how we decided to use the agency that we are working with, books that have been useful, books that have scared us, and what the process with our agency has been like so far.
